ELMWSA pumps and treats the drinking water and provides it to the community water towers and distribution systems.ĮLMWSA's Mission: to protect public health and safety and promote the economic well-being of the City of East Lansing and Meridian Township through the provision of a safe, sufficient, reliable, pleasing and economical public water supply. Each community has its own water distribution system and provides drinking water and fire protection services for its citizens. There is no charge for most recycled items however, there are fees for electronics, batteries, yard clippings and waste.The East Lansing - Meridian Water and Sewer Authority (ELMWSA) owns and operates the water production facilities for East Lansing and Meridian Township. The center also accepts compactable and non-compactable waste. Lake Drive, Haslett, accepts mixed paper, metal, bottle glass (clear and colored), batteries, clean Styrofoam/expanded polystyrene, cardboard, boxboard, yard clippings (leaves, branches, etc.), clean plastic bottles and jugs. Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm The Recycling Center, located at 5976 E. Fall and Winter Hours are as follows: Monday: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm These hours will continue through March 31, 2020. New hours for the Meridian Township Recycling Center and Transfer Station went into effect on November 1, 2019. The center, operated by Reclaimed by Design, started closing one hour earlier each day for the fall and winter seasons.
